No matter what style of music you love or what instrument you’re drawn to, our classes offer the perfect combination of comprehensive music education and flexibility to meet your individual goals.
At Christchurch Contemporary Music Centre, our instrumental and vocal classes develop a wide range of musical skills but don’t adhere to a strict curriculum, meaning our students can take their lessons wherever they want to go! What’s more, we have a focus on playing together, so we provide the opportunity for our learners to get involved with our band programme. |
Piano/KeyboardLearning piano and keyboard is great for your child’s development, coordination and motor skill, but most importantly, playing the piano is fun! Whether your child is a pop star in the making or if a more traditional approach is best, we can cater to their individual style.
Our relaxed and friendly staff can cater to lessons for all ages, so whether they're for your child or yourself, enrol to learn piano techniques, music theory, how to read music and to understand pitch, rhythm and harmony. |
SingingNot only is singing lots of fun, it also helps with literacy and concentration and is great for confidence and self-esteem.
Enrol yourself or your young vocalist in one of our specialist classes and learn about musicianship, musical theory and pitch, the role of a singer and how to read music. |
GuitarGuitar players have great coordination and motor skills, they’re team players and they have a whole bunch of fun!
In our specialist guitar classes, you or your child will learn to read both chords and notation, and will gain understanding of the guitar and the role of the guitarist through an aural approach that develops a sense of rhythm and a ‘feel’ for music. |
DrumsDrumming is a fun way to express yourself and a great opportunity to build confidence and work as a part of a team. Playing the drums is also a great way to boost your brain power and develop motor skills.
In our specialist drumming and percussion classes, you or your child will get a feel for rhythm through an aural approach to learning musical skills. Our classes introduce the layout of the drum kit and the fundamentals of rhythm. Students will also learn how to read rhythmic & musical notation. |
Rock & Pop BandOur Band Mentorship Programme offers budding musicians the chance to put their musical skills into practice and develop new ones by playing as a part of a group.
Bands are a great way to develop confidence, build motivation and join in with other members of our vibrant musical community. Enjoying music with others as well as individually provides a balanced musical education, so when they’re ready, we encourage all of our learners to join a band. In our bands, students improve their technical ability, meet new friends, gain a deeper understanding of musicality and learn about the role of their instrument in a group setting. Motivation to practice increases and this in turn allows our students to become confident musicians. |
